The Eyelashes You NEED To Try

For me, even though I'm affiliated with 2 eyelash companies I still struggle with finding the perfect lash and actually being able to apply it. My favourites so far are the Nouveau natural lashes in the style 3 however these now have serious competition.

What I like to look for in a pair of eyelashes is 1. The band, this has to be ideally the correct length so I don't need to trim it and for it to be flexible and unnoticeable. 2. The length of the actual eyelash must be more on the natural side as they tend to always touch my eyebrow which does not look good! And finally 3. Must be more on the natural and wispy side.

While in my local Poundland I always look to see if they have any hidden gems and this time they did! I picked up a pair of these Revlon Intensifeye lashes in the style 'Define' for only £1. My hopes weren't set that high but I was still super excited to try them!

These are really natural looking and sort of wispy which is just up my street. I don't really look for length necessarily with lashes as I just like my eyes to be more defined. When I wore these I immediately fell in love, they are so easy to apply its ridiculous! The band is very long which is great as it means I won't get glue all over like I usually do!

After wearing them a few times I went back in and stocked up and if I ever see them again I certainly will!

MUA Paintbox Review

MUA is a brand that I was obsessed with when I first started my blog however I felt like I strayed away from the brand as I discovered new things. Although when I walked past the stand this little palette caught my eye.

This is the MUA Paintbox, which is essentially a lip palette. Other than L'oreal no other drugstore brand has released anything like this so I was super intrigued. There were 3 different shade ranges however I went for the 'Beige Nudes & Honey Browns' one.

I love that this is so sleek looking, thin and has a giant mirror as it means that this is something that will be living in my handbag! I also think this is great for beginners as its only £4 you can play around with a fair few different lip colours to see what suits you best. You can also create some really cool looks with this too, maybe perhaps an ombre effect lip?

The colours in this kit are absolutely gorgeous, there is literally something for every occasion and seeing as though its in a pan form the shades are easily mixable for your very own custom shade.

These lip colours are so pigmented too as you will be able to see from the swatch and are incredibly glossy and hydrating. None of the shades are matte in this palette but you could always do the powder trick! There is also a metallic shade in this palette which is so in right now (top right) and it really reminds me of a mix between Heir and King K in the Kylie Lip Kits.

This also comes with 2 little lip brushes which I actually will be keeping and using, especially because I'm taking this palette on the go.

Battle of the bronzers!

I feel like there are so many bronzers and contour kits out there that I thought I would gather them all and round them up to show you what to rush out and buy or what to not waste your money on.

Palettes

ABH Cream Contour Kit - I absolutely hate this. I first bought it when it was launched and it's probably the biggest waste of money out of anything in my entire collection. This is so dry is impossible to blend or play around with and always ends up looking cakey.

Too Faced Cocoa Contour Kit - This on the other hand I love. The only shade thats a bit meh is the highlight as the glitter is quite chunky but other than that its a great palette!

NARS x Steven Klein Cheek palette - My go to palette. Both contour and bronze shades are incredible and when they hit pan I will 100% be purchasing them as singles.

MUR Ultra contour palette - This is my favourite out of all the palettes as it contains everything. The bronze shades are also practically identical to the NARS ones too!

Drugstore

MUR Duo Face Sculpt - If your wanting something again identical to the NARS palette then you need this, this is my go to at the minute and is so travel friendly. It was also the most pigmented out of everything swatched.

NYX Blush Taupe - This is amazing too and super purse friendly. This one however is definitely a contour shade as it would be way too ashy and grey toned for a bronzed look.

High End

Benefit Hoola - A firm favourite in many collections however this really isn't pigmented and I always opt for something else.

Too Faced Dark Chocolate Soleil - This again isn't pigmented, especially compared to the MUR Face Sculpt. However I do like this for a light dusting all over the face

MAC Sculpt Powder - Now I love this powder, this is actually the most pigmented out of all the higher end side. Its also great to contour and bronze!

The Balm Bahama Mama - This one was slightly less pigmented than the MAC one but still better than Benefit and TF. I really like this one however its best to apply it with a really soft or duo fibre brush as it can go a little patchy.

Cream

W7 Chunky Bronzer - This is okay if your a beginner or want to get more into cream contouring however this way way too orange for my skin tone.

LA Girl Pro Conceal - This is a lot more on the bronze shade so I really like this! Its also great in the summer time to make everything look flawless rather than wearing a cakey powder!

Liebster Award & Tag!

If you've read my blog for a while you will know that I have done this tag before although that post is no longer up so when Emily from emilyslittlenotepad tagged me in this I was super excited. So thanks Emily!

The Rules:

1. Mention the blogger who tagged you and thank them
2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger has asked you

1. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

This is a hard one as its a tie between been able to write about something I'm so passionate about but also the friends you make along the way. I have so many amazing blogger friends and can't wait to meet up with them all one day!

2. Favourite budget beauty product?

Such a hard one! Im going to say the Makeup Revolution Face Sculpt Duo because I currently can't put that down! I've recently just mentioned it on my latest video here.

3. What's your favourite makeup brand?

In terms of drugstore it would be 100% Makeup Revolution however on the higher end side of things Too Faced is my favourite!

Radiant light highlighters again from Makeup Revolution.. can you tell how much I love that brand?

5. Blog post that your most proud of?

Autumn definitely. I love the leaves and getting your winter wardrobe ready.

9. One makeup product you've been dying to try?

The Too Faced Born This Way concealer!

10. Your blogging goals for 2016?

Of course I want my blog to grow and I do have a page view goal I want to hit but more importantly for me I want to get more involved in the blogging community and just make more friends.

11. Best piece of blogging advice?

Share everything. If you post something tell everyone on Twitter/ Instagram etc otherwise nobody will know about you or your blog!

I nominate Hannah, Katie, Beth and Kasie to do the tag!

Full Face Of Highlighters

I thought it would be fun to jump on the bandwagon on using highlighters only to create a full face of makeup but instead of watching me do it I thought I would show you what I used!

L'oreal Lumi Magique Base - So I did infact use this as a base just to start off with but it didn't give me my desired look so I opted for something different.

Sleek Barekissed Illuminator - I then went in with this illuminator on a rounded buffing brush.

The Balm Highlighting kit - I then went in with Betty-Lou to contour and bronze and then for blusher I used Cindy-Lou which is hella pigmented!

Makeup Revolution - I used this for actual highlighter and used it with some MAC Fix + to give it that extra sheen.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator - I used this for eyeshadow and I can actually say its gorgeous and ill definitely be using this again on the lid!

Elf Color Stick - I put this on the high points on my face but it looked a bit too pink along with the blusher

Benefit Watts Up - I mixed this with the elf one and placed this on my chin, cupids bow, nose and brow bone.

Becca Moonstone - To set the benefit and elf highlighter I went in with this just to make everything way more overpowering.

Products I Need To Use More

I absolutely love narrowing certain blog ideas down to only 5 selected products, it makes me think really hard and give a truly honest opinion.

I dont necessarily have a huge makeup collection but its big enough to forget about products I used to love or that were that ridiculously expensive I need to force myself to use.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

This was a product that was so hyped about on YouTube and I was so excited to get it. I used it but didn't really give it long enough to notice a difference in the longevity or finish of my foundation and base makeup. Considering this was hard to get a hold of at the time and the price I really need to use this more.

EX1 Invisiwear Foundation

Now this is a foundation that I genuinely love. I also did a first impressions on this which you can watch here. Its such a lovely foundation however it works best with a beauty blender, due to this its quite time consuming which is why I never use it. The next time I go on a night out I'm 100% going to reach for this!

MAC Lightscapade Mineralise Skin Finish

Again this is another product I absolutely love yet don't use as I have a highlighter obsession which means too many to choose from. When it gets to summer I know I'll get my use out of it so prepare to see lots of this on here and on my channel!

Makeup Revolution Contour + Highlight Duo

This is just a product that I really enjoy using and just generally need to use more! Its also so perfect for travelling as its two products hence why I plan on taking it to Ibiza with me!

Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

From my previous post about palettes I should use more - hence where I got the idea for this from - I thought I would include this here too. Like I said in that post the colours are gorgeous but I mainly need to use this because it was so bloody expensive! I knew I didn't need this but I still bought it, silly me! If your interested this is currently for sale on my depop (@paigeallan0).

Top 5 High End Products

After talking about my top 5 high street products I thought I would do the opposite and talk about my favourite high end products!

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic Blusher - First Love

I really didn't like this at first, I didn't think it was pigmented and I didn't understand the hype. However, now I do! This is hands down the most beautiful blusher and I can guarantee that every time I use it makes my makeup 100% better. I swish the outside and brush it along my cheek bones and then use the inner part on the apples of my cheeks. This is just so pretty and I'd love to own different shades.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

Overall this is a palette that you just can't go wrong with. This has such a gorgeous and perfect mix off mattes and shimmers and because they're all warm toned they're right up my street. My favourite shades are salted caramel, amaretto, haute chocolate and cherry cordial. Its also my favourite because it smells (and also tastes) like chocolate!

MAC Blusher - Melba

Another blush I'm completely in love with is Melba by MAC. Its such the perfect every day blush and a perfect mix of pink tones as well as peach. With it being soft enough for the day time I also like to use it for nights outs, cocktails and family meals. You can't go wrong with this and it looks gorgeous no matter what look your opting for or no matter what skin colour you may be.

Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation

If you've been here for a while you'll know that my favourite foundation ever ever ever is the Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation. Every time I wear this so many people compliment me on how lovely it looks, how glowy and healthy I look and how great my skin is. Unfortunately this is super expensive so I'm savouring the last little bit.

MAC Lipsticks

These are my holy grail of lipsticks, the shade and formula range is just impeccable and there really is something for everyone. I've got various MAC lipstick posts on here but my favourites are as mentioned in this post here. I've pretty much got all the MAC lipsticks I want and I literally have enough to last me a life time.

Forgotten Makeup Favourites

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

Once upon a time this was my favourite foundation and to be honest it probably still would be if I used the last of it and repurchased it. Sadly I have too many foundations in my collection and wanted to try something new. However with this being rereleased in different formulas I can't wait to try the matte and poreless version!

Essence Eyeshadow Primer

If I don't use my MAC paint pot to prime my eyes this is what I'll use. However I use my MAC one daily so hence why this has been forgotten about. I really need to use it more so that my MAC one doesn't run out as this is a cheaper alternative.

Revlon Lipglosses

You can read my full review of these here but if your looking for a gloss these are gorgeous. They're non sticky and super pigmented and honestly I don't know why I don't use these more. If you follow me on snapchat (thefashionwayx) then you'll know last week I teamed this up with MAC's Yash to create my own 'Kylie' gloss.

Too Faced Melted Lipstick

This is only a sample size but never the less I really loved this at one point! As you can see from the swatch is a beautiful orange based nude, quite similar to Velvet Teddy.

Smashbox Cream Shadow

This was my first ever purchase from Smashbox and other than a lipstick is the only product I own from them. This gorgeous cream shaddow is a beautiful Champagne pink colour and is just dreamy. I really like this but I just know I won't use this again just because cream shadows aren't my thing. Im currently selling some bits on my depop (@paigeallan0) and am thinking of listing this so let me know what you think!

Just look how pretty these swatches are!

Beauty Products I'd Repurchase

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

This is my holy grail go to foundation. If you get oily this is your best friend! It looks so flawless and really does keep me matte throughout the day. I absolutely love that this is my perfect match and with the drugstore price I couldn't not repurchase it.

LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer

This was one of my first and most popular Cheap Treat Tuesday posts which I no longer do. This is such a good budget concealer and teamed with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer this is a duo not to be missed. Its so light and creamy but also hydrating, hence the mixture with the Collection one. You can pick this up for less than £3 so I really need to get round and order another one!

MAC Velvet Teddy/ Half N Half Lipstick

These are two of my all time favourite lipsticks. They are literally fool proof and can be worn day to day or for more fancier occasions. Both of them are nudes too so can be paired with any eye combination or outfit. Every girl needs a matte nude and a glossy one!

Freedom Brow Pomade

If you love the ABH brow pomade you need this in your life. This literally has lasted me so long and hasn't dried out, plus its actually the best out of the two! With this only being around £5 I don't even need to hesitate when mine runs out.

Makeup Revolution Radiant Lights

You will have seen this product mentioned before on my channel and I literally haven't been able to put it down since it arrived. If your into 'holographic' style highlighters these are the ones for you. They are so pigmented its ridiculous and I know I'll repurchase these as I practically use them daily!

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

This foundation is again a holy grail item in my collection. Like the name suggests this literally looks like skin and gives such a gorgeous finish. With all the added extras this has in which are actually beneficial I just feel like I want to scream about how great this actually is! When this runs out I can guarantee Debenhams will be expecting me.

MAC Strobe Cream

In all honestly this isn't a product that I use very often however I feel confident knowing that I have this in my collection. If I'm having a particularly dry skin day this is what I opt for so when I eventually do use this up I'll be picking it up again just maybe in a travel size version!

Best of Base!

If you love makeup and applying it you 100% need to work on nailing that base. Here are all my favourite products and how they work in making me look flawless.

For Matte Skin:

When creating a matte base its important not to forget to hydrate the skin otherwise your just going to look flat whilst also encouraging those pesky dry patches.

Hydrating Mist: I love this one from Poundland, it does the job and makes sure your skin in prepared and hydrated ready for makeup application.

Mattifying Primer: Considering you want that matte look its best to start with a matte primer. This is my favourite one as it really does lock in that oil throughout the day. I also find that with this I never need to top up my makeup.

Mattifying Foundation: Along with the primer if you want your makeup to be matte you need to use a mattifying foundation. The one I've found that works the best while still looking absolutely flawless is the Revlon Colorstay foundation. This teams amazingly well with the primer too.

Setting Powder: To keep that oil at bay it always helps to set everything with a powder! My top ones include the setting powders from the NARS x Steven Klein palette and the Too Faced Cocoa Contour palette.

Setting Spray: Every base needs to be set in place so for this I like to use the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

For Dewy Skin:

For a dewy base you also need to prime as well as set just to lock everything in place.

Priming Mist: With mists there dewy and add luminosity as well as hydration to the skin to prepare it before any makeup is applied. I personally use MAC Fix + but heard that Makeup Revolution and Freedom do really good sprays.

Pore Filling Primer: While using illuminating products they tend to fill in pores and accentuate them. To stop this its best to use a pore filling primer such as the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser.

Strobing/ Illuminating Cream: Finally you want to add that illumination back into the skin and my favourite product to do this with is the Sleek Illuminator in Morroco.

Dewy/ Satin Foundation: To carry on that dewy look you'll need a foundation thats anything other than matte or demi matte. My favourites indlude: MAC Face + Body, Benefit Hello Flawless, Maybelline 24 Hour and L'oreal Cushion.

Setting Spray: Again to finally set that all in place I use my MAC Fix +.
