Clinique Beauty & Skincare event

On Thursday evening me and Sarah (blog here) attended a Clinique event at House of Fraser in Darlington. It was a pay to attend event but half of the proceeds went to charity!

We were greeted with Prosecco and nibbles and our free gift which was a serum and a mini mascara. The event was split into two parts, make up and skincare. For the make up part we were given all the products to test out while the girl was doing a make up look and explaining about all the products used. However this wasn't good as it just made me want everything! The super primer, tranlucent powder and contour and highlight chubby sticks were the first things on my list!

I must say I didn't really know much about Clinique but now I do and I wish I had tried it sooner, their products feel so well made and luxurious.

Skincare was the second part of the event where we got to learn all about their 3 step programme. We told the lady what type of skin we had and she told us products she recommended. After testing many of them out our hands felt like they never have before! They were so soft and just felt very clean and healthy. This again made me have a very big skincare list- which isn't usually like me!

Items on the list included the 3 step, eye cream rollerball and the turnaround revivalisng oil.

New in: MAC Lipsticks

So as you all will probably know my love for collecting MAC lipsticks is as strong as ever. There probably isn't a day where I don't go onto the MAC website, which I guess might be a bit sad!

I will be doing an updated MAC lipstick collection towards Christmas time over on my YouTube channel so make sure you subscribe to keep updated!

The first lipstick I purchased was Kinda Sexy which is a matte formulation. I got this because I needed a good nude; Pure Zen is a little too light for me and Velvet Teddy just isn't nude at all. When this arrived I was quite surprised at how orange toned this was, which did disappoint me a little. This is quite similar to Velvet Teddy other than the fact it had more peach tones throughout. However I do think I will be able to pull this off with a bit of a dark smokey eye!

I then purchased Spice which I can already tell is going to be one of my firm favourites! It reminds me of Twig mixed with Stone, a brown toned lipstick with a hint of pink. Its also a satin finish which is my favourite formulation!

This is such an easy colour to wear and I really do think it will suit everybody however this will look amazing the darker hair and skin colour you are! Although its quite brown its not too bold so is perfect for general day to day wear or even work!

Born Pretty Review

When I was contacted by the lovely Joy from the Born Pretty store asking if I would like to review some products I absolutely jumped at the chance. Born Pretty is a store which I actually have purchased things from in the past, mainly for my Cheap Treat Tuesday posts so I knew you would all love to have a read of this!

The first item I chose was this make up brush; its basically a flat top kabuki that can be used to buff foundation or concealer into the skin. I already have a few of these and I really recommend them! They're a dupe for the sigma ones too I believe!

What I love most about this brush is just how soft it is yet its dense enough to do the job. It doesn't create any harsh brush lines either which is just great.

This is incredibly cheap and you can use it for almost anything! I sometimes use this to buff my cream highlight and contour in which gives me that glowy airbrush look.

I then chose a lipgloss as I don't really have too many so I thought it would be good to give it a go. I was surprised when this arrived at the colour and how bright it was but nevertheless I tried it on and it comes out more of a pale milkshake pink which is stunning!

The consistency is lovely with this too, it isn't sticky nor clumpy or anything you would expect from a budget lipgloss. I'd definitely check this out and it comes in plenty of shades too!

I ♡ Makeup Lip Lava // Review

Makeup Revolution is a brand that I have a few things from but haven't really experimented with any of the products. When I seen these Lip Lava's I couldn't believe how incredibly similar they were to the Too Faced liquid lipsticks!

Packaging:

I love the colour scheme of the boxed packaging its so cute and girly and just very me! I like how its detailed yet straight to the point letting you know what shade the lipstick is and whats in it.

I was most excited for the actual dispenser (totally not going to pretend like I know what its called!) and how it's like a furry applicator! It's so unique and like nothing I've tried before!

Price:

I picked this up for about £6 which is actually more than if you were to buy this from the Makeup Revolution website however I wanted it straight away so purchased it through eBay. However thats still incredibly cheap compared to the Too Faced ones and these are the only ones on the market!

Product:

Firstly the colour is Forgiven, which is incredibly similar to Velvet Teddy from MAC just a little more peach toned. It's so creamy and not drying in the slightest, it lasts all day and even after a few hours still has that buttery texture.
