Palettes I Need To Use More!

Hidden in the numerous palettes that I own I rediscovered these. These are palettes that I rarely ever use but were so god damn expensive I need to use them more!

Urban Decay Naked 2

This was my first ever high end eyeshadow palette and I remember I got this especially for prom. I went through a stage of loving this however I feel like I moved on to bigger and better things. Im honestly not impressed by the pigmentation of these and the fallout is ridiculous and because most of the shadows are dark its just a mess. I think the main reason behind why I don't reach for this palette is because most of the shades are shimmer and while I do enjoy a good shimmer shade on the lid I prefer warm matte tones more.

Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani

I knew I shouldn't have got this, I was being greedy and knew I didn't NEED it. I've used this only a handful of times and while the colours are lovely I have better palettes. I love a peanut butter shade and this lacks that. The colours are also very cool toned when on the eyes. I feel like if I take my favourite shades from this and pair them with my favourite shades from another palette this is how I can use this more!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit

I was so excited to get this and it was again something really expensive however this is the biggest disappoint ever. The creams are that thick that they literally don't blend or budge on the face. Theres not much to say other than that. As you can see I've tried to use it a few times but it won't blend out! I can get away with the lighter colours but the contour shades are a no go. I'm going to pick up a facial oil and add this either directly to the product or to my beauty blender and see if that helps! I've also tried MAC Fix + with this and it does nothing!

Makeup Wishlist!

Kylie Lip Kits/ Lip Glosses

I'm finally wanting to bite the bullet and get on the bandwagon with these. Honestly the colours didn't really interest me until she launched exposed, I'm literally dying for that shade. And now I'm obsessed with her glosses!

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Quad

I absolutely love Charlotte Tilbury and her products just capture my heart. I've been lusting after this palette for so long but will probably just add it to my christmas list.

Violet Voss Holy Grail Eyeshadow Palette

Now this is my sort of palette, filled with gorgeous warm orangey red tones this is me in palette form! This is mega expensive and something which I'll probably never own but a girl can dream.

The Balm Batter Up Shadow Sticks

The Balm is a brand that really intrigues me, it reminds be of benefit which is a brand that I will forever love. When I first seen this I thought the concept of them was so cool and imagined myself applying them to create a pretty eye look before heading out the door to Uni. These are something which I will most definitely be picking up!

Favourite lipsticks!

Even though I have far too many lipsticks there are a certain few that I can't seem to put down!

MAC Velvet Teddy

Obviously this had to be in my favourite lipsticks! This is such the perfect nude lipstick and with an undertone of a peachy pink I can actually get away with it! I love wearing this day to day as it literally goes with any makeup look.

Charlotte Tillbury Penelope Pink

Again sticking with the nude theme this is the first and only lipstick I've tried from Charlotte Tilbury. I didn't actually like this too much at first but now I'm in love with it. I tend to wear this when I'm wanting a more true nude and something a bit more hydrating on the lips as this isn't matte.

MAC Half N' Half

This is my all time favourite lipstick! If your going on a night out this is the lipstick for you! Its a gorgeous browny nude with a slight undertone of a muted pink. With this being an amplified finish it adds something extra and makes your lips look so plumped! This is also a really similar shade to one of the Kylie Lipglosses.

MAC Yash

If I want a matte lip yet want something a bit on the nuder side than Velvet Teddy then this is what I go for. Its like a mixture between VT and Kinda Sexy, also from MAC. This has slight peachy orange tones but I really like that about it! This again is also similar to another matte lipstick, that being HoneyLove however for me this is more wearable as its slightly darker.

Velvet Teddy, Penelope Pink, Half n Half, Yash

What are your favourite lipsticks?

Disappointing Makeup Products

On my channel I did a video talking about products that I personally didn't think were worth the hype however I felt like I still had products that although they weren't necessarily hyped about they were really dissapointing!

Bourjois City Radiance Foundation

I originally reviewed this here however after using it a few more times I decided that I was actually really disappointed by it. As you can see from the swatch it looks so glowy however on my skin after about 5-10 minutes it looks so dull and patchy. Overall I'm just disappointed at the price of this compared to what its actually like. I'm also disappointed as I love the concealer from the radiance range as I mentioned in my last post!

Too Faced Love Flush Blusher - Love Hangover

Even though this is only sample size I did actually pay for this in a set just like I paid for every product mentioned today. Its not necessarily the product itself that I'm disappointed by its the size of it and the colour. When I first got this I thought it was a joke and even laughed about it when I showed it in my What I got for christmas video. The colour is so bright and pink and just overall doesn't suit me.

No7 Rapid Radiance Balm

When I attended a No7 event this looked amazing but it personally doesn't do anything for me. I've tried it under foundation and even over the top on my cheek bones and I get nothing from it. I also notice this breaks me out and not many products do so hence why this is a disappointment.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - French Fries & Rust

I was SO excited to try these after hearing so many people talk about them. I picked up these two gorgeous shades; French Fries which is a shimmery tan/brown shade and Rust which is a browny burgundy colour that matches perfect with Amaretto in the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. However what disappoints me about these is that when they're used on their own either on the lid or waterline they smudge and transfer so bad. I initially wanted to use these for nights out however Id be conscious of them smudging all night.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Moonstone

This again being another sample I purchased in a Becca best sellers kit. This is really beautiful but its nothing special and hardly pigmented. As I use a fan brush it doesn't really pick up too much product so I usually have to dip into the highlighter I'm using 2 or 3 times however with this I just get nothing from it! I love my Makeup Revolution highlighters SO much more!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector - Opal

As for this product what didn't disappoint me? The colour is an awful sort of yellowy champagne shade that really doesn't suit my skin tone and makes me look ill. When its blended out it doesn't make me look glowy or highlighted it just makes me look greasy. It also has quite a weird smell to it too, I just really wasn't impressed with this.

What's In My Travel Makeup Bag

With having a boyfriend and him also having a caravan I'm constantly in need of a travel/ over night bag. In this theres obviously my makeup so this is what I take!

Foundation- I usually take one thats quite basic and 'everyday' as I don't want something too full coverage or the opposite. I normally opt for the Maybelline Dream Satin liquid as this isn't dewy or mattifying so whatever my skins going through the lovely satin finish of this is perfect.

Concealer- I again go for one thats everyday and quite fool proof, I also need a concealer that I know won't crease. In this case I love traveling with the Bourjouis Radiance Reveal concealer.

Powder/ Contour- For powdering, bronzing and contouring I usually take a palette that contains everything just so it means I'm not taking everything individually. If I don't use my Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour kit (review here) I use this which is my favourite palette at the moment. This is the NARS x Steven Klein face palette that contains a powder highlight, contour, bronzer and then four blushers. So this is absolutely amazing for traveling. I also use this palette for my eyes by using the contour shade as a crease colour, I then just add some liner and I'm good to go.

Blusher- For blusher I'm quite set on my favourite ones; my main favourite being the Charlotte Tilbury Chic to Cheek blusher in First Love. With not only blusher but every item I like to take things I know work and look good as I dread being stranded with bad makeup!

Brows- This is the only brow product I use and I love it! This is the Freedom Brow Pomade and is even better than the Anastasia Beverly Hills one. I find this super easy to work with and can create natural brows or heavily dramatic ones.

Mascara- Again the only mascara that I use is the Maybelline Falsies Effect. This is the one mascara that I know won't transfer on me and gives me great lashes. Therefore this is easy just to shot in my makeup bag and go out the door.

Top 5 High Street Products

L'oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer

This primer if you haven't seen me mention it on my two latest videos (channel here) is my absolute holy grail primer right now. This is the only primer that actually works in keeping me matte throughout the day and teamed with a NARS powder its like heaven. This is such a strange consistency as it almost melts in your hands as Sarah (blog here) referred to it. As I've just booked a holiday to ibiza - I'll stop mentioning it soon I promise - I feel like this will be perfect!

Miss Sporty Eyeliner

After trying the same old eyeliner ever since I started playing around with makeup I decided to try something new. I picked this up as it looked similar to the L'oreal one but for half of the price and I can't honestly rave about this enough. For a budget eyeliner its amazing! Its black, doesn't dry out and stays on all day. I'd really recommend this and its so easy to apply with its precise nib applicator.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

This again is another holy grail product but this time its foundation. If your oily I would go right now and pick this up.. right now! Teamed with the L'oreal Primer its a perfect combination and keeps me matte. This is the foundation that I wear on a daily basis with the use of a buffing brush however I also opt for this for night outs too as this literally locks in place even in sweaty night clubs and for this I use the Real Techniques Beauty Sponge.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara

If you like Benefit's Roller Lash Mascara I guarantee you will love this. My boyfriends mum bought this for me and I hated it, I'm sure theres actually a bad review somewhere on here.. oops! But after trying it out I've fallen in love, this is the best mascara ever at curling and lifting those lashes while still providing volume and length. I also find that a lot of mascaras actually transfer on me (Hello Too Faced Better Than Sex I'm looking at you!) but this is one that doesn't which is a bonus!

Makeup Revolution Salted Caramel Chocolate Bar Palette

When writing this post it was so hard to pick my top 5 favourites however I tried to go through every category. You'll probably be really sick of me mentioning this by now and especially as Katie (YouTube here) got me the Death By Chocolate version that will no doubt be making its rounds across both my channel and on here! This is probably my all time favourite drugstore palette- I like this way better than my MUG eyeshadows but thats probably because of the colours I chose. With this palette its so perfect and warm toned with just the right amount of mattes and shimmers. I also use this sometimes as a highlighter because why not!

LIFESTYLE | Cocktails at The Nuthatch

After over a year of blogging I bring you my very first lifestyle post!

On Friday I took a trip to The Nuthatch, a new micro cocktail bar in my hometown. I went with Sarah  (blog here) who I've mentioned before and our friend Kamila who were trying to persuade to start a lifestyle/travel blog!

After seeing all of the gorgeous pictures of not only the cocktails but the decor of the bar this was number 1 on our wish list of places to try out. Its located in a street full of small independent businesses; most of them being small micro bars and pubs. When we arrived the doorman told us how this was table service therefore they encourage making reservations, luckily he could seat us and I'm so glad because this will definitely be my favourite place to go!

The menu specialises in creating your own gin drink and also has a wine and beer menu however we were just there for the cocktails! We all ordered a Passionfruit Martini to start with which was amazing. The cream on the stop was incredibly sweet although the drink was very sour, it was such a perfect combination! I also tried a bit of the passionfruit on top for the first time and I can say all night passionfruit was an ingredient I looked for on every single menu.

I then thought I would try something else of the menu and opted for the Strawberry and Elderflower Bramble which contained gin! I'm not a big gin fan however I'll definitely be ordering this again.

Overall I really loved my trip to The Nuthatch and they should expect to see me again soon!
