Foundation Empties

Personally, I'm a self confessed foundation junkie.. counting these 4 I have around 15 foundations! So after using them up I thought I would keep them aside to talk about and do a mini review on each of them!

Foundations are something that I love experimenting with, wether that be in terms of trying a new brand or a new finish. So below are a mixture of mainly drugstore brands with a high end one chucked in for good measure.

Maybelline Fit Me

Now, this is the 'old' version of this foundation and sadly you can't pick this up anymore. I've gone through about 3-4 bottles of this as I absolutely loved it. The shade 130 was a perfect match for my skin and the dewy satin formulation just sat so effortlessly on top of my dull and dry complexion. This was also on the cheaper side of foundations too so I didn't mind buying it all the time! Unfortunately I'll never be able to get my hands on this exact formulation again which really sucks!

L'oreal Infallible Sculpt

I picked this foundation up because it sounded interesting as it was described as a 'Contouring Base'. I thought that this would make products sit so nicely on top of the skin and surprise surprise it did! This is a smooth, dewy/ satin finish which almost looks like it has a glow from within however contains no shimmer or glitter particles. The only downfall about this foundation is that because its so thin and very liquid based I absolutely flew through this. I would buy this again but only after I'd tried what else is on the market.

YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat

This has to be one of my all time favourite foundations, I've literally scraped every last drop of foundation out of this. If you want really healthy, luminous and dewy skin then this is something you will LOVE. Its expensive but when your wearing it I feel like you can really tell. Everything about this is just stunning, in terms of coverage all of these foundations are medium but buildable and this is the same.

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid

I absolutely hated this one at first as it showed all my dry skin and looked flakey and terrible, however now my skin has changed I love this! Its nothing special but that makes it a great every day foundation. The coverage is there, it looks flawless on my skin and doesn't oxidise so its everything I could want in a day-to-day foundation.

Do you have any foundation recommendations?

Makeup Revolution Highlight Palette | Review & Swatches

By now if you don't know that eyeshadow palettes and highlighters are my thing then where have you been?

As soon as I seen this on the Makeup Revolution Instagram I knew I had to have it, even before swatching it. So when my boyfriend took me into Superdrug and got me to pick out some bits for christmas I went straight over and handed him this.

(please excuse the indent in the last shade- sobbing rn)

Firstly, this palette is £10 and you get 8 different shades! That alone I think is pretty amazing, wether your highlighter draw is full or you've never dared to wear it I really think this will be for everyone.

As for the packaging this is sturdy but basic, most of my MUR stuff does break a lot but saying that I use it allllll the time so I can't expect it not too! This however doesn't feel as flimsy as some of my other products which is a bonus as highlighters are a bit more delicate.

This also doesn't have a mirror but I'm not complaining, if a palette includes a full face worth of products then I like it to have a mirror just incase I want to just take that with me however with this I don't feel like a mirror is needed.

What I like about this palette is how many varied and different shades there is. Wether its a gold, pink or bronze highlighter you love then this palette is for you.

I feel like both of the rows have the same shades but the bottom row is more in your face and popping if you know what I mean! The highlighters are so smooth and buttery too and honestly for a drugstore product their amazing. They are also quite finely milled too and don't have huge chunks of glitter in them either which I love!

Top Row.

The first shade is a white/ baby pink shade which is very light in pigmentation so looks really nice if your just wanting something simple and not too in your face.

The second shade is probably my favourite- this one is hella pigmented (the swatches are rubbish!) I use the one below it as a blush topper then go over with this on a more detailed brush.

If you like anything gold such as MAC Soft and Gentle or Laura Geller Guilded Honey then the third shade is the shade for you!

The final shade in this row is gorgeous too, if the one previous isn't as dark of a gold as you wanted then this is an intensified version.

Bottom Row.

The first shade is a very very bright white/ golden yellow shade which is incredibly intense.

The second shade I use as a blush topper, its a stunning pinky coral with gold shimmer running throughout.

The third shade is like The Balm Mary Lou mixed with copper and is something quite different and unique.

Finally the last shade, and the damaged one is a beautiful coppery bronze. Unfortunately this is too dark for my skin tone so I use this as a shaddow!

What do you think, would this be something you would pick up?

Feel Unique Haul

After receiving a few skincare items for Christmas I've been obsessed with looking after myself wether thats through skincare, sorting my sleep out or wanting to whiten my teeth, so I thought I would treat myself to something other than makeup for once!

The two main things I went on Feel Unique for was the This Works Pillow Spray and the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. I ended up buying 2 gift sets as I found you got more for your money and it gives me the chance to try other products from the range!

With my order I also received 2 samples; the Vichy Serum and the L'Occitane Ultra Rich Comforting Cream which I'm so excited to try as I've never used anything from these brands before yet have heard so much about them!

The first set I picked up was the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Talk which contains a 7ml Pillow Spray and then a 5ml Stress Less Liquid. This cost me £22 which I thought was pretty good!

I struggle with sleep so I can't wait to test this out so I can review it for you and let you know if this actually works..

Finally I decided to pick up an Elizabeth Arden set as I really wanted the 8 Hour Cream (which costs £27!) however this set includes the Intensive Daily Moisturiser 15ml and the Lip Protectant Stick all for only £22.40! I literally couldn't resist this amazing deal and if its something you've been eying up for a while I'd definitely suggest picking it up!

So far I'm absolutely loving the original cream and the lip protectant stick and have noticed a difference already!

So that was my haul.. and a first of many!

Where Have I Been & 7 Things To Do in 2017

Hi and I'm back! After what feels like forever and my 100th blogging break, here I am back again. I've had a stressful few months working and being at Uni full time however I now feel like I can get back to doing what I love as my assignments have cooled down and I've now cut down my working hours.

This year I want to do something other than just blog about beauty, hence why I'm kicking the year off with a non makeup related post. Yes, I'm still obsessed with everything in that department but theres so much more I want to write about too. I've got a lot of plans for this year already so get ready to read all about them!

1. Be Happy- Never in my life have I continuously felt happy but this year I'm going to change that. I'm going to equally say yes to more opportunities but also say no to the things I also don't want to do. I'm coming to the end of my degree too which will make me happy in itself but this will also free up my time so I can focus a bit more on myself.

2. Travel- This is something I've always wanted to do and I feel like this year is the right time to do it. Me and my boyfriend have already got so many adventures planned including Zante, Thailand and Grenoble and were even getting a GoPro to document it all!

3. Save- I'm a pretty good saver but recently I've been a really bad impulse shopper and I need to snap out of it. If I don't need the money for traveling I need it for saving up for a deposit on a house which will hopefully be 2018/19. This year is just about preparation.

4. Loose Weight- I know, I know this is a typical 'new years resolution type thing' but in all seriousness this is something that NEEDS to happen. I've already lost a stone and have at least another stone to go so I'm hoping I can stay on track.

5. Be More Confident- This comes hand in hand with losing weight in all honesty, I know its not all about looks and it isn't but its how you feel too and I feel awful in myself. This isn't me and I just want to get back to being carefree and confident!

6. Make More Of An Effort- This is relevant to so many situations but I just think I'm getting a bit lazy in every aspect of my life. I need to get myself organised and start looking after myself.

7. Be Easy Going- I get that this is sort of the same type of thing as 1, 5 & 6 but I just think sometimes I'm a bit hard to deal with.. which makes me sound like such a bitch! I don't want to be like this anymore and want to just be carefree and enjoy whatever comes my way. I just need to take a deep breath and forget everything I know and go with whatever my heart desires.

Thanks for reading this really relaxed, chatty and laid back post but expect to see more from me over the next few weeks.

Bloggers Made Me Buy It!

I see so many blog posts, Instagram posts and tweets raving about products and it really does suck me in. Here are some of the products and brands that bloggers have influenced me to buy and my thoughts on them!

Milani– I picked up 4 items when I first ordered from Milani and I’m so glad I listened to those who raved about them because now I do too! I don’t use them all as much as I’d like just purely because I have so much makeup but I definitely need to more often, especially the baked blusher in Luminuso!

Freedom Primer Water- I’ve been testing this out for about 4 weeks now and its fair to say I’m in love! Again theres a separate review up here but all I can say now is you need to go and pick one up for yourself!

Primark Lip Liner & Liquid Lipstick- I’m not going to talk about these too much because theres a separate review up here but oh my god I love these! I’m so glad I picked these up and now I know they’re amazing I can go and get every colour and it wont break the bank!

Charlotte Tillbury lipstick- Probably one of the most popular blogger favourites! I hated this at first but the more I used it the more I fell in love. It feels so luxurious and the shade is a gorgeous light glossy nude. I 100% need to try more of her lipsticks!

UD x Gwen- Sadly this is one that’s a huge regret and I wish I’d off not seen so many people talking about this. I didn’t need and it to be honest I never ever use it. I don’t like the shades and they don’t really suit me either. Such a waste of money!

NutriBuddy | First Impressions!

I was very kindly sent the brand new 14 day weightloss kit from NutriBuddy - a company that specialises in safe and effective weight loss products. As your all aware I'm currently trying to loose weight so this really couldn't of came at a better time!

This kit includes:

Sculpting Whey
Multivitamins
Hunger Fix
Shaker Bottle + Scoop Measurer
Recipe Book
The Little Book Of Weight Loss

This is the perfect kit for a beginner as it literally includes everything you need and it only retails for £24.99. Personally I'd never looked at protein related weight loss products however I did think they would be so much more expensive- especially for a kit with this many products in.

So far I'm really excited to use this! Oh and did I mention this is 100% natural and suitable for vegetarians? I also want to quickly mention the packaging of these products- I love it! Its so Instagram worthy and pretty! From everything from the colours they've chose to the font I really like it!

Today was the start of my 14 day journey so I thought I would let you know what I thought about the products so far. First of all the size of both the Multivitamin tablets and the Hunger Fix capsules really scared me however they were super easy to take and didn't taste of anything horrible either! My favourite thing about these, especially the Hunger Fix capsules is that you have to have a full pint of water which makes me drink lots more; helping further with this weight loss journey. As I'm writing this post its been about 4 and a half hours since I've ate last and I'm still not hungry which for me is very surprising!

I've also tried the Sculpting Whey with water for my lunch and I was so surprised! You hear about the taste of things like this being horrible but this was actually incredibly tasty. I chose the chocolate flavour as I'm a self obsessed chocoholic and I feel like this fulfils my cravings. I originally put in too much water so next time I'm going to put less in so it has a stronger chocolate taste! I'm also going to try this with warm milk and make my own sort of hot chocolate and have it for my breakfast- ill let you know how that goes over on my twitter!

Overall this has exceeded my first impressions and I can't wait to update you on this process!

Beauty Essentials Shadow Switch Review

When I got the chance to try and review this Shadow Switch Dry Brush Cleaner from Beauty Essentials I was so excited! I'll be the first one to admit that I don't clean my brushes as much as I should but with this it just makes everything so much easier!

This isn't a brush cleaner in the sense that you wouldn't use this alone but more of a brush cleaner as your actually using your brushes.

This isn't the original packaging however I still do like this. The original one is still going to keep with the pink theme which I love however its going to look more sophisticated which a fancy font! I do hope they keep the box quite similar as I like that it tells you all of the benefits- some of which are amazing and it also shows you how to use it.

My favourite benefits are definitely that theres no product transfer and that it preserves the brushes because as we all know brushes are bloody expensive!

Talking about expensive this Shadow Switch is the opposite as it retails for £5.99 with free UK delivery on Amazon!

The product comes in a tin which makes it really easy to take with you traveling and also makes it sustainable as its less likely to break in your luggage.

The actual product; the brush cleaner is a weird sort of spongey wirey material. It feels dry to the touch so its obviously the wire material that gets right up into the brush and then as you swirl it around it removes the product that way. The actual product is also refillable too!

From these photos the dirty brushes are on the left and the clean brushes are on the right. As you can see the 'clean' brushes don't look very clean; especially the first brush as it seems the shadow has just been dragged down to the bottom. I was quite disappointed when I seen this however when I rubbed them on my hand there was no old product left so I was actually really surprised! Even if the product is pushed to the bottom this doesn't matter as the top of the brush is still clean and then once you give them a deep clean all of the product will be completely gone.

Overall I think this is a really clever idea and something I'll use on a regular basis!

Fuller Lips In An Instant - My Perfect Pout

When this came through my door I was so excited! I'd seen them all over Instagram -you can follow me here- and even some of my blogger friends got sent them to review too!

I've never really been interested in bigger lips until I tried this!

This is a natural lip enhancer - natural meaning non surgical - from the brand Perfect Pout. If your wanting bigger lips or just want to play around with something to see what you would look like then this will be perfect for you!

With this theres no need for surgery or injections as you get instant results and it even reduces lip wrinkles which I'm all for! This enhancer is probably the cheapest yet safest way to obtain those fuller lips- don't be doing any of then Kylie Jenner lip challenges!

With this of course the effects aren't permanent however you can use this multiple times to give that plump pout the lasting power. I find, personally that this lasts roughly about 45 minutes until my lips go back to their normal size, however I feel like they aren't very cooperative and don't have much staying power.. if that makes any sense?! I would use this if I was going somewhere for a meal or night out and I knew there would be people talking pictures, especially at the start of the night. So if you are looking for something permanent or that will last all night then this might not be for you.

This enhancer is the Medium Round style and is perfect for my lips. I can fit both of my lips into it or just do one lip at a time. It is made out of a hard plastic material however its not harsh or uncomfortable on the lips. This comes in 3 different sizes so have a look and see what suits your lips best!

The box that it comes in gives clear instructions and I follow them all apart from the first step. If you've already got your foundation or even highlighter on your cupids bow then the lip balm with sort of rub all around and make your makeup look a bit funky so I wouldn't recommend that. Although if your doing this before any face makeup then it will be fine to use lip balm!

I actually found that it worked better on my bottom lip and once they were plumped I couldn't get them any plumper; my lips must not like to be touched! But you will be able to see below the results!

Before:

During:

After:

And finally with lipstick on!

Overall I do really like this! I think if its going to be a quick fix or something for photos then you'll love it too!

You can purchase this at Archangelz counters and selected Debenhams stores.

AUTUMN LIP PICKS

For me when it gets closer to autumn and everyones talking about berry and purple lips I feel quite left out because I really don't suit them at all. You'd think with me having dark hair and dark eyes I would but they literally wash me out SO much.

This is when I thought why don't I create a blog post with the autumn lip shades that I would wear and that aren't too bold yet are still bold for me.. if that makes sense?!

For me I think its a lot easier to wear a dark lip thats glossy rather than matte hence why theres only two liquid lipsticks.

Also can we just take time to really appreciate the Gingerbread and Christmas Surprise candles?? Totally getting autumnal inspired right now.

All year round I always opt for a nude lip, its goes with anything and can be worn in any season however if I do want to channel my inner vampy self then I like to build up slowly from the nudes to the more brown sort of shades.

These are my autumn lip picks and as you can see they're slightly in the middle bit of the scale, just edging on the dark berry lip everyone loves so much.

All of these ones are MAC and are all satin finishes except Whirl which is matte. All of these are so comfortable on the lips and last a decent amount of time too.

The last two are liquid lipsticks from Colour Pop so are of course matte. I don't wear these too often as they do flake off throughout the day and aren't as comfortable as a MAC satin lipstick. These are both the darkest in my collection but I think this is as dark as I suit.

What are your autumn lip picks?
