Soap & Glory Peach Party Blush Brick

When it comes to Soap & Glory I'm going to be honest in the fact that nothing really appeals to me. I don't know wether its because I tend to go in Superdrug more and they don't sell it or because whenever I do visit a stand its always a mess. However when Katie was looking at the lip glosses I happened to head over and swatch this; this is the Peach Party Blush Brick

First of all I do really like the packaging- as much as I love sleek black packaging having quirky and cute packaging also really appeals to me too. I love how all of the S&G images are 50's inspired and are black and white themed. This also has a mirror too which is a bonus!

This cost me a whopping £11 which I really do think is ridiculously steep. Although if your into that golden peachy look then this might me worth it for you!

In terms of the product its a wheel made up of pink, copper, gold and a shimmery pearlised nude. You can either swirl your brush through all the colours or pick out a specific shade - I recommend the Real Techniques Fan Brush as it picks up just the right amount of product. Talking about product this is SO pigmented so going in with a regular highlighter brush may pick up too much product.

With this you can use it as a blush, highlighter and bronzer depending on your skin tone. For me its a mix of both a blusher and bronzer. When I use this I use a cream contour and then go in with this on a fan brush dusting it all over my general cheek area. As this is so shimmery I tend not to wear any highlight with it either.

I have to add that if you do have any facial texture this is sadly one of those products where it really shows it off so just be careful about that!

HOLY GRAIL MAKEUP

When thinking about my holy grail makeup I wont lie it was hard deciding what was my ride or die sort of product as ive never really thought about it before. However I thought that if I had all the money in the world and all my makeup got lost or ran out which products would I immediately repurchase.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara; This is my wow mascara for sure. I literally feel like this makes my lashes go from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds. This is honestly raved about so much for a reason. The only thing is that it does transfer a lot under my eyes so I’d love to try the waterproof version so see if that stays in place.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation; Another Too Faced product is the Born This Way foundation which you can read my review of here. If I’m going out and want a foundation that I know will stay in place, look flawless and will be the perfect formula for my combination skin then this is the one. This also looks absolutely amazing when used with a damp beauty sponge! If I could only recommend one foundation then this would be the one.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Pallete; The final Too Faced product in this post but most definitely the best! This palette was the first thing I thought of when thinking about my HG products as its everything I want, need and love in a palette! Its mainly made up of warm toned shades which is what suits me best. It also has a peanut butter shade and pleanty or shimmery browns and golds. It can even be doubled up as a highlighter which looks unreal!

Bourjois Concealer; This has to be mentioned in this post purely because of how radiant and hydrating it is. If you like the Naked Skin Concealer from Urban Decay then I really suggest you give this a go, plus its half the price! This is really creamy and blendable but it’s the fact that it is so hydrating that makes me love this so much. I have such dry undereyes and literally every concealer enhances it- but not this one!

MAC Lipstick in Half N Half & Velvet Teddy; I absolutely adore MAC lipsticks, there is so much choice wether that be in terms of colour or formula but these two are my favourites! Half N Half is my go to lipstick for nights out or special occasions. It’s a beautiful browny nude that’s glossy and makes my lips look double in size. Velvet Teddy on the other hand is matte and more on the peachy side of a nude lip. I’d buy them tomorrow if they got lost right now.

(Top to Bottom: Concealer, Kate Moss Lipstick, MAC Half N Half & MAC Velvet Teddy)

Rimmell x Kate Moss Lipstick in 56 Boho Nude; I haven’t been able to leave this alone since I’ve bought it its that gorgeous! Its very similar to Half N Half but has a little less brown in it. You really cant go wrong with this, its creamy and glossy and just looks so effortless! Definitley check these out if you haven’t already girls!

What are your holy grails you couldn't live without?

Top 5 Makeup Brushes!

When it comes to makeup brushes its hard to decide what to go for as most of them are pretty expensive and you don't know how well they perform of if they shed at all. Here are my top 5 favourites- which none of them shed!

MUR Powder brush; If you watch the likes of MannyMua and Hannah Renee then you’ll know the brushes that they use for bronzer look amazing! When I seen this and seen how similar it was to the ones that they use I thought I best pick it up. I haven’t been able to put this down since I got it, the flat front and back of it make it easy to place product whereas the soft bristles make it easy to blend it out seamlessly. Its also in the top 5 because erm look at it?!

NYX Blending Crease Brush; I definitely had to mention an eye brush in my top 5 and you cant go wrong with a blending crease brush! This one is from NYX and if you haven’t already tried their brushes you really need to! This one is the perfect size, shape and fluffiness to buff and blend the shaddow. I have a few NYX brushes but this one is definitely my favourite!

Zoeva Highlight brush; This does what it says on the handle! Its such a gorgeous highlighter brush, especially if you want that really intense look. Again this is another delicately soft brush that picks up just the right amount of product. I also love the fact that the bristles are white!

Real Techniques Setting brush; I have two of these and use them for many different things, number 1 being setting my concealer under my eyes. This is such the perfect shape as it can get right under the eye very easily. Its also so soft and not scratchy at all which is exactly what you want for a brush to be used under the eye. I also use one of these as a huge blending brush to blend out my crease and transition shade.

Real Techniques Duo Fibre Blush brush; Okay so this isn’t just for blush it can be used for almost anything, don’t let the name of it define how you use it! I do use this for mainly blusher however I’ve used it for powder and bronzer before. The fact that its duo fibre means that for the likes of blusher that could be really bright it only picks up a tiny bit of the product. I feel like when I use this no matter how bright or pigmented the blusher is I never accidently put too much on.

Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Highlighter

Are you really surprised that this is on my blog? I mean 1. its Makeup Revolution 2. its a highlighter and 3. ITS ROSE GOLD.

When I seen this announced on their Instagram I didn't really feel like I needed it yet somehow I managed to persuade Katie (blog here) to come to Superdrug with me just for a "browse".. yeah right!  I swatched this and immediately fell in love.

Firstly Makeup Revolution highlighters are some of my favourites. Their cheap, pigmented and the colour selection is amazing.. I mean whats not to love?

This is the Vivid Baked Highlighter in the shade Rose Gold Lights. I have a few of these and absolutely love them. This cost me £3 which is incredible- I'd honestly rather own all the shades than 1 highlighter from Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown. They are THAT good.

This is the shade Rose Gold Lights and as you can see its such a gorgeous pink with gold running throughout. If you like the NARS Orgasm blush then I'd definitely try this out. I personally wear this as a highlighter and blusher in one and it creates the most stunning and girly look.

This is also incredibly pigmented and the swatch down below is only one swipe of the product. While its great that its pigmented you might be a little scared off however don't worry- just dust a fan brush into it and it applies lightly but still giving that killer glow. However I like to go in with a more denser brush and make sure I get that wow effect; like I said I wear it as a blush too so I feel like that allows me to apply more and wear this to its full potential.

I also dust this over the tip of my nose and cupids bow and it still looks great, for some reason the pink doesn't really come through in those places which makes it way more wearable.

This lasts all day too and if you apply your setting spray and then apply this it just makes it glow even more.

I can't forget to mention the formula as its one of my favourites. Its not chalky in the slightest but is smooth and extremely buttery. I also use this as an eyeshadow- especially if I'm creating a halo eye and I place this in the centre. It works incredible when used wet and also has no fallout either!

I'm so in love with this and can't wait to share it with you more!

The Perfect Primark Lip Combo

Everyone and their Mum have been talking about Primark makeup, in particular their lip products so of course I'm jumping on that band waggon.

Firstly, my local Primark doesn't have that much in terms of their PS makeup so I was quite surprised when I seen LIQUID LIPSTICKS! Yes most of them were opened and there were only three shades to choose from but I was so excited I spent literally 15-20 minutes trying to find one that was unopened.

I went with the colour 'Nude'- which I thought would be nude. If you follow me on Snapchat (thefashionwayx) then you'll of seen that I swatched this and tried it on the lips. Unfortunately it was more of a bubblegum pinky shade which was way too light for me and didn't suit my skin tone. In terms of the actual lipstick it dries fast, not fast were you can't tweak the application but fast enough were you don't have to sit and wait for it to dry. The formula of this isn't drying either and I can comfortably wear this all day unlike the NYX or Colourpop ones. The texture of this is also very thin but creamy and has no smell either.

As for the applicator which you can see below its literally the perfect size and shape. Its a hard doe foot applicator which is perfect as I personally don't like flexible wants for liquid lipstick. It dispenses just the right amount of product too meaning I don't have to double dip- perfect for a lazy girl.

The tip of the applicator also gets more narrow and pointed towards the end which makes it perfect for getting a precise application on the edges of the lips and makes it easy for getting right in the cupids bow.

I then remembered that I'd picked up one of the Lip Liners too and wondered if I could pair them together and make a better, more wearable combination. This was in the shade 'Brown' and I firstly outlined my lips and then filled them in. I'm not going to lie this was a bold, dark lip which is something that I never wear. It really reminded of MAC's Whirl so if you have that give this a go and I bet they pair perfectly together!

This applied really creamy and smooth; unlike many other budged lip liners that seem to be dry and drag along the lips. This is also sharpenable which is a huge plus! Once I apply this all over the lips I then dab the liquid lipstick over the top and blend with my fingers. It creates a gorgeous Kylie Jenner inspired look and also makes my lips appear bigger too.. huge plus!

I really love these and can't wait to try more of Primarks beauty range so if you have any recommendations then please let me know.

Freedom Priming Water | Review

If you know me you know that Makeup Revolution and Freedom Makeup are my all time favourite brands from the drugstore, so as you can imagine this was quite high up on my wishlist.

If you follow the makeup world you'll know that Smashbox were the first to come out with a Priming Water and it was so innovative and different so when Freedom launched their 'dupe' I just had to get my hands on it. Unfortunately every time I went to purchase it it was out of stock but now I've finally got it I've been testing it out for a few weeks so I can finally give you my review.

The Priming Water is priced at £6 which is incredible as the Smashbox version retails for £20! It's only available on the TAM website or you can purchase it from Superdrug. I actually got this online from Superdrug and went with the click and collect option so I didn't have to pay anything for delivery! I can honestly say that the wait for this killed me- I was SO excited to try it!

I love the packaging of this and all of the Pro Studio range for that matter. The clear bottle tied with the metallic silver wrap makes it look and feel so much more expensive. It really does look like a professional product within my collection. I even prefer the look of this to the likes of MAC Fix +. The only thing I have to mention about the packaging is that make sure the whole lid is screwed on properly -not just the cap- because mine wasn't and it leaked a little bit. It wasn't a big deal and it was my own fault anyway!

Now lets talk about the actual product- does it work? YES.

100% this actually works! I spray this only before my makeup, not over it as I'm scared it will go patchy but this creates such a flawless base for makeup application. Currently my skin is quite dry so I'm not sure how well this would work if you have oily skin.

This instantly hydrates my skin and makes my foundation and concealer go on so effortlessly and seamlessly. My undereye area is so dry and my makeup usually creases and looks cakey, however when I use this it looks so radiant and creamy and not dry at all.

As for longevity of my makeup I've noticed that not only does this keep it on for longer but it keeps it looking exactly the same as when I first applied it; fresh and smooth looking. This contains Glycerin which basically makes things stick - so if you do doubt this product just look at its ingredients because its proof that it does what it says on the tin.. or bottle!

My all time favourite thing about this product is the smell.. its hard to describe but it smells like vanilla which I'm all for.

To wrap this up, all I can say is expect to see this in many favourites and an empties because I know I'm going to get my use out of this and finish it quite quickly!

SURVING UNIVERSITY

This post seriously needed the title to be in capitals.

Since I'm heading into my third and final year of uni (thank god for that, ey?) I feel like I've finally found my way and therefore have a few helpful tips that could help! Most of these tips are more study related but hey ho don't drink too much I guess!

1. Printables. I think this is easily the most important and it goes hand in hand with the next tip. If you google free student printables there are so many to choose from; my idea is that if you print these and stick them at the beginning of all your files and folders you won't get flustered and will know exactly whats happening and where. Theres plenty to choose from including weekly planners, to do lists and assignment trackers.

2. Start early. Everyone who doesn't wishes they did, including me. If you start your research months before its due and make a plan and keep notes then you won't end up stressed that the deadline is approaching.

3. Drink water. There were so many times I had a headache and this teamed with stress and tears really doesn't help. Make sure you drink plenty of water both throughout the day and whilst your studying, especially if your on the computer.

4. Bring your own food & water. Cafes at uni are bloody expensive as they're all Costa's and known branded eateries so bring your own. This way you can cut costs whilst also watching what your eating and maybe being a bit more healthier if thats what your aiming for!

5. Stationery. For stationery I suggest having a small notepad with dividers in which you can jot day to day notes in however for each subject I think having a A4 notepad/ folder is the best way to go about organising your work. It means that when your revising for 1 subject everythings all together and in the same place without work from other subjects getting mixed in. -Its also worth getting 5 million plastic wallets as the amount of hand outs you get is ridiculous!-

If you have any tips please tweet me or comment down below as I still need all the help I can get myself!

New To My Makeup Bag | Haul!

I literally just popped into my local Superdrug for some wipes.. and then this happened! Although now I think about it thats how it always happens!

So the actual thing I went in for in a new pack of the B. Cleansing wipes. I like to use these when I'm staying at my boyfriends or have came in from a night out; or in shorter terms when I'm being lazy! I've tried the B. Micellar wipes before and absolutley loved them so I thought I would give these a go! What I love about these wipes is that their actually wet and not half dried out like all other brands I've tried!

Next up is the Powder Brush from Makeup Revolution, something I wasn't planning on buying! I did feel like this was a bit expensive as MUR aren't known for their brushes unlike Real Techniques or Morphe but I loved the size and shape of it. I've wanted a similar brush from MAC for such a long time and this looked identical so that was my reasoning behind this purchase!

I also picked up my first Kate Moss lipstick from Rimmell! This is quite exciting for me because after I swatched it the colour was so me and was like my all time favourite MAC lipsticks rolled into one and for half the price! This is the shade 56 Boho Nude and is my favourite from the whole collection.

Next I spotted this new in Vivid Baked Highlighter in the shade Rose gold by MUR and didn't think it would faze me until I swatched it. Its so beautiful and has that stunning pinky gold sheen to it. I would use this as a blush and highlight in one and can't wait to do so!

The last product I picked up is the Soap & Glory Peach Party Blush Brick. I've never really looked at these before but after I did I couldn't not buy it! Its soooo pretty!! Again I'd wear this as a bronzer and highlighter all in one!

I'd say thats me on a spending ban for a while but its me were talking about here!

The Unique Blogger Award

Last week I was nominated by my gorgeous friend Hannah from Hannahs Wonderland to take part in this tag and knowing me I can't refuse taking part in a tag! I love how interactive and social they are, and also I get to meet many new bloggers! So thanks for tagging me Hannah!

The Rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated & leave their link.
2. Include a quote & a meme you really like.
3. Nominate 8-13 bloggers.
4. Ask your nominees 3 questions.
5. Make sure you link the award creator: Paige Allan

My favourite quote has to be this!

The questions Hannah asked are:

What is your feel good song?
I'd definitely have to say something cheesy like Nelly Hey Porsche or Omi Cheerleader. They remind me so much of summer and singing them at the top of my voice with all my friends!

What are your 5 desert island essentials?
Suncream would be number 1! Just because I've been burning so badly recently! I'd also take lipblam,  a facial mist or spray, deodorant and finally pads/ tampons just because we need to take into consideration of these things haha! This is all very non beauty related but these are my essentials that are also sort of sensible too!

Who inspires you in the blogging industry?
First of all my friends, if its not their blogs that inspire me its the support and love that they give me. Kasie from Kasie Beauty also inspires me so much as she's just amazing and her blog is seriously goals!

And my favourite meme!

Here are my questions and the lovely girls I tag!
1. What is your favourite season and why?
2. What is the one makeup product/ technique you just don't get along with?
3. Whats your favourite makeup tip?

My LVL Experience!

Being part of the Nouveau lashes #lashgang definitely has its perks! I was offered the chance to go and get LVL enhance done and seeing as though I've never had anything done to my lashes before I thought I would give it a go! I was incredibly nervous and not sure what to expect as the eye is a delicate area and nobody wants to damage their eyes however it went amazingly well and the results were incredible!

Firstly your probably thinking what the heck is LVL? I was the same! Its basically where they give your lashes a bit of a lift and then tint them to make them look like your basically wearing mascara!

I got my lashes done at Baker Street Beauty which is run by Becky and is located on, of course, Baker Street which is in Middlesbrough town centre. The room is gorgeous, very professional yet still friendly at the same time. Its also located in a pink and green building which you can't miss! Becky was lovely and explained everything thorroughly, she made me feel comfortable and at ease and so much so that I'll definitely be back to get further treatments! If you want to know more here are her social media links:

The treatment lasted around an hour which surprised me at first but it makes sense through all the steps that she did and they all had to be timed. Even though I was in there for quite a while the whole treatment was so relaxing and with the music being the ocean and waves I could of easily fell asleep! Now for what you've all been waiting for- the before and after!

Heres some more photos of my lashes after!

The results can last between 6-8 weeks depending on how well you look after them which is amazing! I plan on using the Nouveau Lashes Conditioning Serum to keep them looking this good for as long as possible!

If you're interested in this treatment I would 100% recommend Baker Street Beauty but if your not in the area head over to the Nouveau Lashes website where you can find your local salon!

My Week In Lipsticks!

If you follow me on Snapchat (thefashionwayx) then you'll know that sometimes I like to share with you all my favourite lipstick combinations or just show what I'm wearing that day so when I seen this idea on twitter I thought I would jump on the band waggon and let you know what I've been wearing on my lips this week!

When it comes to lip products I have so many from lipsticks to glosses and crayons so I like to switch it up and wear something different day to day. This week I managed 5 different lip options; all of them which I'm in love with! Some of these I have mixed with various lip liners however they tend to just be a muted brown shade.

MAC Yash

This is a matte formula, not something I go for often in a lipstick (bullet) as I like to go for more of a satin finish however this colour is too pretty not to use. If you love velvet teddy then you'll like this more. it has less of an orange tone to it and is just very nude. This lip also goes with anything I choose to wear so its also super easy to just chuck on and go!

Primark PS Liquid Lipstick Nude

The first liquid lipstick of the week is this £2 little gem! I wasn't too keen on the colour but paired with a liner its gorgeous! This doesn't crack off, flake, fade or transfer and as liquid lippies go its not even that drying! Stay tuned for a full review of this soon.

NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick Bedtime Flirt

If your looking for MAC's velvet teddy in liquid lipstick form then this is the one for you! The consistency of this is super similar to the Primark ones so if you have tried those then you need to get your hands on these!

Sleek Crayon Notorious Nude

This is something so different in my collection; its essentially a nude crayon lipstick with a plumping affect to it. I loved the colour so thought I would give it a go as I've never tried anything that plumps the lips before. The tingling sensation is nice and lasts for around an hour so if your not keen on that then stay away from this.

MAC Blankety

Another MAC lipstick this week however this one being an amplified formula. I reached for this when my lips were feeling super dry and couldn't of handled a matte lipstick. I don't often opt for this as the colour doesn't suit me too much but with my dark eye makeup this actually looked okay!

Let me know if you liked this post and I'll make sure I do it more often!
