Cheap Treat Tuesday // Collection Contour Kit

Trying new and inexpensive beauty products is 100% my favourite thing to do and when I seen Zoe mention this in a recent vlog I just had to try it out.. especially when its only £2.79 on introductory offer!

I love how the packaging is black, sleek and straight to the point letting you know what it is and what it does. I also like that you can see the product, this also makes it so much easier to choose your shade when there isn't any testers available! Talking of shades this only comes in one colour according to Superdrug's website.

I like how they have also added a little mirror, usually I think it makes packaging look cheap looking and sometimes a bit tacky but I don't think this does! It's not big enough to do your whole face but if you want to touch up throughout the day then it's great.

For the actual product I think you get so much in each pan, especially in comparison to say the Barry M contour kits or the Maybelline Master Sculpt. The pigmentation is incredible too and considering the price the quality is amazing for not even £3. The swatches below were very light swatches giving you an indication of the pigmentation.

The contour shade is just the right colour for me, its not too muddy or orange toned but a very nice glowy brown. It blends so well too just in case you accidentally go in a bit too harsh don't worry just blend! I love how this doesn't feel chalky either and also doesn't stick to dry patches or show hairs more visibly - especially around the hairline.

For the highlight I don't have anything like this in my collection and I was honestly so surprised when I used this on my face. On swatches it looks like a pale silvery cream colour with little bits of glitter throughout however when you actually apply this to everywhere you would usually contour it becomes holographic! That is the best and only way I can describe this and I LOVE it!! It's such a nice change to a regular gold highlight like MAC's soft and gentle and I really recommend you go pick this up and change your make up game!

Would you try this kit?

Top 5 MAC products // Starter Kit

Seeing as MAC is a brand that I really love I thought I would recommend my top 5 products as well as create a basic starter kit! MAC isn't cheap so I know that I'm very reluctant to try certain products and I guess that many of you will be like that too. Here are the things I can't live without.

Fix +

This is a multi-purpose spray that can be used for so many things. You can wet brushes to give that dewy appearance to foundation or to turn baked eyeshadows into foil finishes. As well as this you can use this before and after your foundation routine to prep the skin and then to set it in place afterwards. This is expensive but they last such a long time and seeing as I use mine every day I can barely notice it going down!

Strobe Cream

This is basically a pearly/ iridescent moisturiser that you apply before any make up; it gives the most gorgeous inner glow to your skin and makes you look so much more alive. If your having one of those dull skin days this can really brighten your face up. I recommend this more for those who have dry skin as it will make your foundation look 10x more flawless.

Face & Body Foundation

This is probably my favourite foundation ever, if you have dry skin you really need this in your life! As its water based and very dewy this gives the skin that glow and awake-ness everybody needs in the morning. What I like about this is that it literally suits everybody. You can build up the coverage and also apply powder afterwards if it's a little too dewy. Unlike the other MAC foundations I feel like this is one that isn't orange!

Painterly Paint Pot

These little pots of joy can be used on their own as a cream eyeshadow or underneath regular shadow and used as a primer. I wanted mine for both hence why I chose the shade Painterly. This colour cancels out all the red and blue on my eyelids making it a perfect base to start my eye look. However I can also use this as an all over colour and then I would blend a brown shaddow into the outer corner and crease for an easy to do but amazing look!

Lipstick

MAC lipsticks are the most famous thing about MAC, there are just so many to chose from! I really feel like you can't go wrong with any lipstick that you pick because they're all gorgeous and such amazing quality. Make sure you do your research on what finish's and formulas there are so you don't pick something you wouldn't wear. My favourite shades are: Velvet Teddy, Whirl, Brave and Faux.

Soft and Gentle Highlighter

This is such a gorgeous highlighter and I'm sure you will of all heard of it before- and that's why you should get it too. You can't go wrong with this gold highlighter. The glitter isn't chunky or over powering and it will last you forever. I haven't even made an indentation into mine in the many months I've been using it. You can also use this as an inner eye highlighter or even just as an eyeshaddow.

August Favourites

I feel like I rarely do monthly favourites any more so here's what I've been loving in August!

Tangle Attack

I did a full blogpost on this (here) so you can give that a read for a proper review! What I've been loving so much about this is the fact its so much easier than using a brush, its travel friendly and does an amazing job at de-tangling my hair. I like to take this with my when I go swimming after the gym so I can brush through my hair straight away, just after I've done that I then apply my heat protect spray and leave in conditioner. After this routine I find that when I dry my hair that its super smooth and sleek looking.

Roller Lash Mascara

I'm surprised at myself that I haven't blogged about this until now but bare with me there will be a post solely dedicated to this soon. This is probably one of the best mascaras I have ever used. I was reluctant to try it at first thinking that nothing could beat the They're Real mascara however I was really surprised! The lift and curl this gives is amazing, this lengthens my eyelashes so much that people often ask me if I have falsies on.. its that good!

Bahama Mama Bronzer

I seem to be coming back to this bronzer the most out of everything in my collection, its such a gorgeous colour that isn't too muddy or too dark. On my skin tone I think this is great for generally just bronzing up but it even suits me to contour with. I think this is a perfect colour match to Benefits Hoola and this is cheaper too! I've even used this as a crease colour, very multi-purpose!

Whirl Lipstick

I still love the whole Kylie Jenner lip colour that's still going around so when I heard that MAC was releasing a new Matte collection and Whirl was now going to be an actual lipstick I knew I had to get it. Its a very mauve brown shade and looks gorgeous on the lips. If you follow me on snapchat (thefashionwayx) then you'll have seen me wearing it to death!

Stripdown Lip Liner

I've never tried a MAC lip liner before this so I thought I may as well get one while I'm getting a new lipstick and Stripdown to me looked like something I would use a lot. It's a nude/ brown shade with more of a chestnut tinge. This looks lovely on the lips and tones down a bit to give you that 'your lips but better' effect. I've worn this with nude lipsticks/ sheer lipsticks and even dark lipsticks like whirl and it makes the lips just look flawless. I can't wait to try more liners from MAC.

Cocoa Butter & Walnut body scrub

I really love to pamper myself and I especially love when you can shave your legs and do your tan while wearing a face mask and also trying to paint your nails! What I like to do when doing this routine is use a body scrub before I shave my legs however I never seem to be able to find them for a decent enough price and seeing as though I like to use a lot and lather it on I don't really want to pay any more than a couple of pounds.

I've checked in all my local pound stores and saver stores yet they never seem to have anything, even online I think their all ridiculously priced. I then came across this one and of course I picked it up in the cocoa scent, if anyone of you know me personally you will understand just how obvious this is of me.

This is a scrub in which the walnut in it is actually the exfoliator. I think this is really interesting as its different compared to a normal sugar or salt scrub. I feel like its less harsh for the skin and seeing as though I exfoliate regularly I don't need something like a salt scrub. This scrub is so creamy and has just the right amount of micro-particles of walnut in it. The smell is absolutely divine and reminds me of The Body Shops cocoa range. With this smell it also stays on your skin too which I was really impressed with, especially as this was only £1!

I love this so much that if I ever see any more from this range I'm 100% going to pick them all up!
